This policy describes how the personal Homebridge Nest integration handles Google user data. It applies to the integration, not to unrelated features of this website.
Information accessed
With the account owner’s authorization, the integration accesses thermostat information through Google’s Smart Device Management API. This may include device identifiers and names, room or structure information, temperature, humidity, operating modes, temperature settings, and device events.
The integration stores authorization credentials needed to maintain access. Google account passwords are not entered into or stored by the integration.
How information is used
Information is used to display thermostat status, receive device updates, and carry out authorized commands through Homebridge and Apple Home.
Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models.
Storage and sharing
Configuration, authorization credentials, cached device information, and diagnostic logs may be stored on privately managed systems and in backups.
Information is exchanged with Google to operate the integration and made available through Apple Home and its associated services to authorized household users. Device data and authorization credentials are not published on this website.
Retention and deletion
Configuration and authorization credentials are retained while the integration is in use. Logs and backups may retain information until they are rotated or deleted.
The account owner can revoke access through their Google account permissions. Revoking access prevents further authorized access but does not automatically delete existing local records or backups. The site administrator can delete those separately.
Google API requirements
The integration’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
